Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Clair Analytics ("the app", "we") handles information when the owner of the YouTube channel English with Clair authorizes the app with a Google account. Clair Analytics is a private, read-only analytics tool used only for that channel.
1. Information we access
The app uses Google OAuth and requests only these read-only scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly: YouTube account information, namely the channel ID and title, and the IDs, titles, publish times, durations and privacy status of the channel's uploaded videos. It is also used to look up the public titles of videos that send traffic to the channel.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly: YouTube Analytics and Reporting data for the channel, such as views, watch time, average view duration and percentage, subscribers gained, traffic source types, search terms, suggested-video sources, audience retention, and thumbnail impressions and click-through rate.
The app does not request access to revenue or monetary data, private messages, comments, or the ability to upload, edit or delete content. It never receives or stores a Google password.
2. How we use the information
The information is used only to produce performance statistics and reports for the channel owner, for example to evaluate topics, titles, thumbnails and audience retention. It is not used for advertising, profiling or any unrelated purpose.
3. Storage and security
- Data retrieved from YouTube is stored on the channel owner's own computer, in a local database and local export files.
- The OAuth refresh token is stored locally on that computer and is never published, logged or sent to anyone other than Google.
- This website (ytanalytics.yongcast.com) only hosts documentation. It does not receive, store or display any YouTube data, and it does not use cookies or analytics trackers.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share YouTube user data with third parties. Aggregated reports may be reviewed by the channel owner, or by tools the channel owner personally chooses to use for analysis. Data is not transferred for any other purpose except as required by law.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
Clair Analytics' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. YouTube API Services
Clair Analytics uses YouTube API Services. By using the app you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and your data is additionally subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Retention and deletion
- Retrieved data is kept locally for as long as the channel owner needs it for analysis. The channel owner can delete the local database and export files at any time.
- Stored YouTube API data is refreshed daily. If access is revoked, stored YouTube API data that can no longer be refreshed will be deleted within 30 days.
- You can revoke the app's access at any time from your Google Account's third-party access page: myaccount.google.com/connections (also available at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). After revocation, the app can no longer retrieve any data.

8. Children
The app is not directed to children and is operated only for the owner of the channel.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new effective date.
